Estapona.

Part of Andalusia. Once part of the kingdom of Granada. Mountainous. Whitewashed villages clinging to steep cliffs under the watchful eye of the protective castle on a high point. Whitewashed villages around every narrow vertiginous corner. (Anyone settling on the plains was at the mercy of roaming bandits)
Gibraltar is also part of the region. Impressive piece of rock. Unimpressive part of England.

Rock of Gibraltar. From the top. In the morning. We could see accross the Straits to Morocco.

View to 2nd pillar of Hercules, Morocco.
Back home after 20km hike around big English rock. View from our deck watching sun change the mountain and Mediterranean. Drinking bubbles from the cave and eating cheese from the sheep on the hill. Strawberries are in season. 2 euro per kilo.
After viewing lots of whitewashed villages we were left kinda gobsmacked when we crested a ridge and looked down to this. The blue town of Juzcar.
Smurfs live here.

Mother's day on the terrace. Overlooking the Riff mountains of Morocco.

  1. What a lovely way to spend mothers day beautiful view not like the wet dull cold day here.like the way the buildings are so colourful as for the rock Spain is making noises about wanting it back from the Brits since Britex even sent a war ship into harbour but Brits turned it around.am sure Pop was stationed on the rock early 30's before going to Burma.you should get a job as a tour guide loving the history lessons
