Central North. Portugal.
Seat of the first kings of Portugul.
Stunning city. UNESCO listed as well.
Stayed in an old palatial villa overlooking everything. 5 star luxury. Quick run around town this morning after yesterday climbing the 675 steps to the shrine of Mary the healer. Apparently the mother of god has healing powers in this place. Ive never seen an alternwhere Mary is placed above the holy trinity and recieves worshipnfrom them. Ancient mother goddess cult still well and truly alive in central northern portugal. Oh yeah, we got a one on one tour of the caves. Sparkling wine. Same methodenas reims but different grapes. Took a few bottles of ten year vintage with us.
