Sintra

Triathlon done. Very enjoyable. Challenge really know how to organise. Best TRI I've done, thanks to organisers.

Now. Sintra. Into the metro and jump about a few lines and in 40 minutes we are there. Originally a moorish fortress built in 10th century. Then when moors driven out in 13th century a monastery was built on the next hill. Portugal then outlawed the sect of monks and the monastery fell into disrepair until king Ferdinand bought it from the church and turned it into his palace. All this within 140 ha of national Park.  A fortress, a monastery and a palace. Here are a few pics.
