Village high in hills. Gotta take the last 25km really slow because the road is single lane and the edges plunge vertically a few hundred metres into the valley way below. Beautiful country. Hills are covered with springtime explosion of yellow and purple wildflowers.
Village of Piodao only got road access in late 1970s. Electricity came soon after.
So the village still retains an authentic traditional way of life. More than everywhere else at least. We had coffee and food. A walk through and then back to our Peugeot for the slow careful drive out. Next stop Coimbra.
